IFAD and FAO, WFP, UN Women with Norway and Sweden are jointly organizing a side event in the framework of CFS 65, on “Women's empowerment for food security and nutrition for all: evidence from joint UN work”
The side event will offer a unique opportunity to:
- Provide evidence of the impact achieved by the Joint Programme on “Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment (JP RWEE), and engage members states and donors by voicing their views and commitments around this partnership;
- Knowledge sharing and cross learning among countries participating in the joint programme and with other women's empowerment interventions working to achieve gender equality, food security and adequate nutrition.
The high-level, moderated discussion will gather experts and champions of women’s economic empowerment and present emerging lessons on the impacts of the JP RWEE, including innovative methodologies to measure women’s empowerment in food security and nutrition. Country-level results and impact studies conducted by the Joint Programme will serve as a basis for a broader debate on how to capture the gender dimension in monitoring and evaluation activities of joint multidimensional programmes.Rome-based colleagues are welcome to attend the event.
